The final 9 Weeks!  Wow!  Time has really flown by this year!  It always excites me to see how much these kiddos have grown in their ability to read!  I am so proud of them!  It is always sad to say goodbye to our 2nd graders, but I know they will do great things at WES next year.  They are more than ready!

This 9 Weeks we will focus on:

*poetry- alliteration

*dinosaurs- because who doesn't love dinosaurs??

*dictionary skills

All library books are due by Friday, May 5th.  Failure to do so will result in the loss of any end of the year activities (field trips, field day).

It is so nice to end the school year in May!  I hope everyone has a fantastic summer! See you next year!

                      LIBRARY POLICY

We have lots of great books that we encourage the children to check out and read.  We spend a great deal of time talking to them about how to take care of their books.  We ask that you also encourage them to take care of their books and return them on time each week to the Media Center.  If a book is lost or damaged, students are responsible for paying the full price of the book so that it can be replaced.  They will not be allowed to check out more books until they do so.

Kindergarten:  Students will not be allowed to bring library books home until after Christmas.  They will be allowed to check out 1 book each week.

First Grade:  Students will begin checking out 1 book each week beginning August 22. Books should be returned each week.

Second Grade:  Students will begin checking out 2 books each week beginning August 22.  Books should be returned each week.

Fundraisers

We will be selling Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough again this year!  Cookies will be sold Oct. 27- Nov. 10They will be delivered before Christmas Break....just in time for the holidays!!

We will also be having our Scholastic Book Fair Feb. 27 - March 3 so please make plans to stop by and get some GREAT deals!

What's so awesome about these fundraisers is that ALL the money goes towards new books and supplies for our library!  We bought tons of new books last year and I can't wait for the students to get their hands on them!

I hope everyone has an awesome year!!    Mrs. Hunt
